Position SummaryThe Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for performing crucial job duties that ensure vendors get paid for services and products rendered. Under direct supervision, the Accounts Payable Specialist will fulfill accounts payable duties, support cashier roles, and implement and maintain systems to ensure compliance to company procedures and policies.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Accurate data entry and timely payments of vendor invoices and expense reports including uploading files to the bank
• Expense report processing and approvals using Concur Solutions software
• Accurately coding and obtaining receipts for corporate credit card transactions using Concur and uploading into accounting system
• Securing proper approvals and maintaining accurate records and control reports
• Communicating with internal and external customers to address any past due invoices on their account and providing status updates to concerned parties
• Perform monthly accounting procedures which may consist of assisting with month end close, reviewing AP trial balance and aging and journal entries
• Files, maintains, and distributes accounting documents, records, and reports
• Maintains vendor records, requests W-9 forms, keeps payment methods up to date
• Prints monthly commissions checks and records all commissions and rewards payments in the accounting system
• Assists with check runs for commissions, claims, cancels, and credits
• Provides assistance during annual 1099-Miscellaneous filing and distribution
• Participates in year-end financial audit
• Contributes to the development of processes and procedures.
• Performs other duties as required to support Accounting Department

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Associate degree in Accounting preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of accounts payable experience required
• Experience with Concur Invoice accounts payable or other automated payable system strongly desired
• Experience with Sage strongly desired
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office(Word and Excel) required
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles
• Ability to work and interact with department and client organizations
• Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment and prioritized tasks
• High degree of attention to detail
• Excellent verbal skills

Job Type: Full-timePay: $20.00 – $22.00 per hourBenefits:
