Job Description:

A Pearl Bartender reports directly to the Food & Beverage Director and is responsible for fostering the Pearl culture within the Food & Beverage department for Pearl Hospitality. A Bartender must ignite the human spirit by creating unrivaled hospitality experiences fueled by fun, enthusiasm and compassion that challenge each person to unlock their own potential.

The Bartender is a key team member and essential for the successful operation of the Food & Beverage Department. The Bartender must ensure that they are continually providing exceptional service and proper pouring of alcohol. The Bartender must be customer friendly and provide all service with a warm greeting and a smile. All hotel operations must be executed at the highest level of professionalism and courtesy. The Bartender must ensure that our associates and our customers are treated with the utmost respect at all times since they are the key to our success.

• Prepare customers orders as requested accurately and efficiently
• Ring guest check correctly. Close the check to the proper method of payment
• Ensure guest satisfaction in the event of dissatisfaction and tactfully negotiate resolution
• Comply with accounting guidelines regarding receipt of payments and check total verification
• Balance house bank at end of shift
• Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis
• Requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits as well as all bar supplies
• Practice prudent portion control
• Abide by all law requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
• Input orders into the register at point of sale to maintain accountability of all beverages served
• Lock and store all beverage and equipment items as well as deposits and drops and secure bank
• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of alcoholic beverages
• Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate cash register
• Ability to remember, recite and promote the menu items
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time
• Ensure safe and a sanitary work environment with conforms to all standards and regulations
• Maintain the utmost cleanliness according to health department regulations
• Comply with Accident Prevention Program to minimize liabilities and related expenses
• Must be able to conduct daily business with integrity and be ethical at all times
• Ensure approved uniforms are being worn at all times including proper glove and hair containment
• Maintain a safe working environment through compliance of safety
• Ensure all food is of proper food quality and proper temperature
• Ensure all food equipment is maintained and properly serviced
• Treat guests, associates, vendors and co-workers with professionalism and respect at all times
• Comply with emergency procedures
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis
• Perform other tasks that are deemed necessary to the success of Pearl, the hotel and the associates

Physical Requirements – (not limited to) :

• Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, crawl, reach above and below shoulders, repetitive arm and wrist use, climb ladders and stairs, and walk on uneven surfaces.
• Must be able to operate motor vehicle or provide transportation to travel to various properties in city.
• Must be able to see and hear.
• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to work around moderate noise level.
