About us

More than 1 TW of renewable energy projects are sitting in interconnection queues waiting to receive certainty on their ability (cost) to connect to the electric transmission grid. Pearl Street is building novel solutions to address this problem — generally recognized as the biggest bottleneck to decarbonizing the nation’s electricity system — by accelerating the interconnection study process while giving renewable energy project developers better tools to manage the complexity of interconnection and get zero carbon energy deployed on the grid. What you’ll do

We are looking for an experienced marketing and communications professional to help tell this story by building Pearl Street’s marketing and communications strategies from the ground up. Your role will encompass:

• Leading the development of a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy to increase awareness of Pearl Street’s products and impacts; overseeing and coordinating all related efforts including:
  • Thought leadership (speaking opportunities, written content, executive visibility, etc.)
  • PR & public affairs
  • Events marketing (trade shows, conferences, etc.)
  • Content marketing and SEO
  • Social media and email marketing
  • Website and web presence
  • Paid advertising
• Developing a compelling and cohesive company brand and voice, consistent across all marketing and communications channels
• Building and managing relationships with members of the media, policy figures, and regulatory authorities
• Managing the company’s presence at industry events, trade shows, and conferences
• Developing a content strategy that positions Pearl Street as the leading solution to interconnection challenges on the transmission grid
• Tracking, analyzing, and reporting on core marketing and communications metrics to demonstrate the impact of activities and increase impact over time
• Overseeing Pearl Street’s marketing technology stack, including its website and associated plugins, CRM and email marketing tools, Google Analytics, and social media platform
• Manage marketing and communications contractors as applicable
• Longer-term: Building and managing Pearl Street’s marketing team

What we value

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing and/or communications; we are looking for a candidate with a diverse and well-rounded marketing and communications skill set that will allow them to be conversant in all aspects of the company’s marketing strategy
• 2+ years of experience in a communications leadership role, and demonstrated management skills
• Excellent written, verbal, and digital communication skills
• A talented storyteller who can communicate complex and technical concepts in a simple and interesting way
• Strong project management skills and the ability to manage simultaneous projects and tasks to produce high quality deliverables on time and within budget
• Superb attention to detail
• Demonstrated knowledge of the electric utility industry and/or related sectors such as wind or solar
• Demonstrated success working in a remote environment is a plus, as is experience working in a startup environment or on a small and nimble team
• Extensive list of media contacts in the industry is a plus
• Bachelors degree in communications, marketing, or a related field is a plus
