SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT POSITION
Penta Corporation is a 46-year-old Metro New Orleans-based company seeking a Software Developer to design, develop and test web-based applications for the transportation industry. The best candidates will be self-motivated, organized, and accountable in performing work responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities
- Front-end website/web-application design and development
- Database management (Primarily PostgreSQL)
- Develop readable and maintainable software code
- Code testing and debugging
- Work in a team environment
- Communication with customers for requirements and system updates
- Some travel may be required
Qualifications
Ideal applicants should be familiar the following technologies and frameworks:
- JavaScript
- CSS/SASS/HTML
- PHP scripting
- Experience with SQL and use of database systems such as PostgreSQL
The following knowledge, skills and qualifications are a plus:
- Experience with real-time client/server communication
- Experience with SFTP/SSH
- B.S. in Computer Science or relevant certifications
Work will also require strong communication skills, attention to deadlines, assistance with documentation, and the ability to work on multiple projects.
The position is intended to be a full-time, immediate hire, but we may consider an intern-to-hire opportunity for highly-qualified candidates completing a degree in the next year.
Employment is at our Harahan facility.
