Responsibilities:
The position is responsible for setting merchandising space and merchandising product within both large and small format accounts. (i.e. Grocery and G & C). This includes stocking shelves, rotating shelved product, setting up displays, stocking and rotating products in coolers, organizing and rotating products in storage rooms, and moving products from storage to the sales floor. This position interacts with personnel at the store locations.
This position is labor intensive, requiring lifting, pushing and pulling cases weighing from 20-50 pounds per case repeatedly over work period, as well as bending, reaching, squatting and knelling while setting merchandising space/equipment and products.
Work Shift: M-F (7 am – 3 pm)
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Merchandise store shelving, coolers and displays within specifications of Planograms or merchandising standards
- Rotate products on the shelves
- Ability to read planograms and set shelving or coolers to reflect the required space
- Use of equipment to transport products (e.g., U Boats, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.)
- Display promotional material such as signs, banners and pricing strips/tags in accounts
- Keep back room stock in neat and orderly condition and tagging product locations in small format accounts
- Communicate store issues to store managers and Pepsi account managers
- Build customer relationships at the store level
- Some duties require extensive work to be accomplished inside walk in coolers.(Small Format Accounts)
- Service accounts during designated times established by management/supervisor
- Deliver customer service (e.g., communication, rapport building, attentiveness to customer needs, etc.)
- Ability to operate under minimal supervision (self-managed role)
- Regular, reliable, predictable attendance
- Other assignments as directed by reset leader or supervisor
Qualifications:
- 18 years or older
- Pass the drug test and physical capabilities test (if applicable)
- Pass the background check
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work early mornings 5:00 – 6:00 a.m. start up to 10 hours per day and lift up to 50 pounds comfortably
HELPFUL EXPERIENCE:
- Working for a retail business or grocery store (e.g., understanding store operations, knowing the backroom and inventory, stocking aisles and shelves, etc.)
- Moving products within a store safely stacking and moving products with a hand truck.
- Merchandising products (e.g., filling shelves, building displays, making products look attractive, rotating products, cleaning shelves, eliminating out of stocks and out of date products, etc.)
- Experience with merchandising (e.g., standards, planograms, product displays, stocking/rotating product, back-room organization, etc.)
- Previous leadership experience or interest in developing leadership skills
- Experience with incremental selling (e.g., selling above the standard order, suggesting additional product, up selling/suggestive selling, etc.)
- Experience following safety procedures (e.g., proper lifting techniques, following safety processes, etc.)
