If you want to reshape the world and discover your greatest potential, Saint-Gobain provides one-of-a-kind opportunities for innovative problem solvers.
We’re one of only two companies in the world that is consistently recognized as both a top Global Employer and a Top 100 Global Innovator, but Saint-Gobain’s remarkable story and culture of innovation begins with a team of nearly 200,000 creative, diverse and passionate team members collaborating across the globe. We are committed to our mission to improve lives because, every day, we witness the enormous impact of our efforts on the world around us.
The Saint-Gobain Seals (SG Seals) Simulation Group is seeking an outstanding Engineering Simulation and Data Engineer to join a team with a variety of competencies including advanced material modeling, wear and fatigue simulation, leakage modeling, to develop novel sealing modeling and simulation techniques and hybrid physics-data based engineering emulators to support SG Seals digital transformation strategy. The team focuses on design and optimization of customer-driven high performance sealing solutions and technologies (both polymers and metals) supporting Space exploration, sustainable green energy storage and transportation for Energy and Aviation markets, high pressure, high speed and low friction medical and surgical equipment for Life Science market, and other mission critical applications in other markets. This position can be based out in either Bristol, RI or Garden Grove, CA.
The candidate will be expected to work on projects in the areas of component design, assessment of design with simulation and engineering simulation service, which includes but is not limited to, scope definition, model construction, model analysis and debugging, result processing, and presenting findings in written and oral formats. Another primary responsibility is to develop hybrid engineering simulation emulators that combine data-driven (machine learning models) and physics-based simulation models with high accuracy and low computational cost, and work closely with technical platform team, commercial and Ops teams to define the scope and objectives for new emulators development. Combining your strong engineering simulation and engineering data science background, you will develop and build powerful tools to explore sealing design space, leading to dramatic time savings in design, support technical team to gain insights, understand trends and make better decisions on recommending high performance sealing solutions, while developing innovative new sealing solutions and influence our long-term technical and business strategy. In addition to the candidate’s primary projects, the candidate will be expected to support projects led by others.
