Peru State College seeks a dynamic student affairs professional who is passionate about engaging students in campus life. The Director of
Student Activities and Programs (DSAP) will provide leadership to all the functions of the Student Activities Office will foster a team
atmosphere. The DSAP provides vision for student programs, activities and leadership initiatives that connect to the College’s
institutional values, mission, and strategic plan, values, mission, and strategic plan. Central to Peru State’s values is a strong
emphasis on equity and inclusion and a recognition that all students deserve to engage equally in the opportunities available on campus.
This person develops high impact practices with particular attention given to the first-year experience and student needs. Will supervise
the Campus Activities Board (CAB), attending all CAB meetings and events, and the student organization process. The DSAP provides oversight
and leads efforts to promote student leadership through development and implementation of a student leadership curriculum. This person
establishes and maintains relationships with outside agencies necessary for implementing co-curricular events and collaboratively leads
large-scale events such as Oak Stock, Homecoming, Welcome Week, celebrity performer and other community enriching programs. The DSAP
accompanies student groups to off-campus activities and serves as liaison between CAB and Student Senate, as well as maintaining the Game
Room and Commuter Lounge. Additionally, the DSAP will oversee The Hub which is a communication platform for students and campus for
engagement opportunities. This is a required live-in position and the DSAP will reside in an assigned residence hall and participate in the
on-call rotation. As part of the live-in duties, the DSAP partners with Residence Life and is responsible for assisting the supervision and
training for resident assistants and residents. This person also facilitates and directly support all aspects of the summer camps,
conferences program, and the campus room reservation process. This is a 12-month position with non-standard hours and is exempt regarding
FLSA overtime provisions.
QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor’s degree and related work experience is required. Additionally,
a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion are essential. The successful candidate will possess a knowledge of student
development theory, demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal, and organizational skills, and will have
demonstrated success in building collaborative working relationships throughout the College community and external audiences. The successful
candidate will also be committed to personal growth, possess mature judgment, and a student development philosophy. Experience working in a
higher education setting with Student Activities or related programming area is strongly preferred, particularly in a small college setting.
Experience with and knowledge of Residence Life is also desirable.
