The Lead Farmworker Health Outreach Specialist acts under the direction, guidance, and supervision of the Farmworker Health Outreach Manager. This
position is responsible for the management and completion of basic health assessments, referrals and follow ups to migrant, H2A, seasonal, and retired
farmworkers. Additionally, planning and conducting outreach activities, case management, and health education are core expectations of this position. This
position requires working independently, with minimal supervision, as an extension of the Farmworker Health Program at the Moncure Health Clinic site. The
Lead Outreach Specialist will mentor, train, and provide onsite supervision of interns, students, and/or temporary Outreach Workers as necessary. The
position requires flexible hours (evenings and some weekends), a valid NC driver’s license, car insurance, an acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Minimum requirement is high school diploma, preferred associate or bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Current/valid License: Driver’s License
Experience:One year of public health outreach experience, preferably related to migrant farmworker populations.
Language: Bilingual English/Spanish required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires frequent sitting for long periods of time, operation of standard office machines, and working knowledge of computer hardware and
software. May require lifting of up to 25 pounds. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Requires normal vision range.
Work is performed in 60% in an office environment and %40 in the community. Community outreach is typically done outside, so must be able to withstand
climate variations (i.e. heat, farmland, cold, etc). Must be able to routinely work in the evenings (up to 11:00PM) and occasionally on weekends, as necessary..
Must be comfortable with contact with staff and external clients and vendors. This position requires considerable driving to remote locations. A valid driver’s
license and proof of insurance is required for this position. This position is expected to drive a company vehicle to transport patients as needed, so must
maintain an acceptable driving record.
