As the Fire and Emergency Medical Services Program Specialist 2 you will be an integral part of dynamic programming at Pierce College that is making a difference in the lives of others.
Under the direction of the Dean of Health and Technology and to ensure equitable access and success, the Fire and Emergency Medical Services Program Specialist is responsible for the operation and administrative duties for the Fire Services Leadership & Management (FSLM) Program and the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Program. Often the first point of contact for prospective students, current students, and community partners, the Program Specialist is culturally affirming and advances the institution’s commitment to racial equity. The Program Specialist is a liaison to program participants and community members regarding program admission and program policies, procedures and practices. Included in this work is monitoring and reporting needs for the applied business and construction management programs. As the Program Specialist, the successful candidate will provide effective case management to FSLM and EMS students to support their progress on their educational pathway. This includes providing equitable access, referrals, and support, and managing the data required for student and accreditation progress and reporting.

Terms of Employment:
This position is a full-time, classified, position with an official duty station located at the Pierce College Fort Steilacoom campus. Frequent travel to Pierce College campuses or other sites will occur.
Standard work hours are between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with occasional evening and weekend hours required. This position may be subject to reassignment between campuses or sites.
Salary & Benefits:
Starting salary range for this position is between $3,294 – $3,792 per month. However, your paycheck is just part of the total compensation package. There is an outstanding benefits package which is worth an additional value equivalent to about 30% of your salary. This position works indoors in an office environment which requires visual concentration on detail, dexterity and precision. This position experiences frequent interruptions with occasionally distraught people. During this time, core staff approved by their supervisors to come onto campus are covered by a safety plan that follows social distancing and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocols. This includes minimizing close contact by limiting time on campus; conducting meetings virtually; and implementing other creative strategies to reduce the density of employees on campus to keep everyone safe.
