Job Summary
Responsible for the overall daily operations and functions of Employee Health Services for the Hospital. Performs pre-employment screenings of new employees, and provides occupational health nursing service for individual employees, groups of employees and prospective employees. Coordinates workers compensation process and performs other responsibilities in order to promote a safe, and healthy work force.
Job Duties
- Coordinates employment physical assessments, testing and immunizations.
- Provides annual and periodic testing as needed or recommended by the Infection Control Committee.
- Follows up on all work-related injuries and illnesses. Facilities the case management of lost work time cases.
- Maintains confidential employee health records. Prepares, analyzes and files reports as necessary.
- Participates in the detection, evaluation and correction of health and safety hazards in the hospital. Participates on the Infection Control Committee and Safety Committee.
- Administering on a day-to-day basis workers compensation claim, including notification of carriers and communication with employees, managers, claims adjusters, nurse case managers, etc. to manage claims.
- Investigating, reporting, and processing of work-related injuries.
Job Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with Illinois licensure
- Two years experience in hospital or occupational employee health
- Demonstrated organization and time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Excellent interpersonal skills, customer service delivery skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and make decisions in accordance with hospital policy and governmental regulations.
- Knowledge of basic computer operations, use of word processing software, and reporting software
- Ability to use audio/visual equipment, telephone and other clinical equipment for teaching
- Previous workers’ compensation experience preferred.
