PLAYA RESTAURANT MANAGER

Playa at Sportsman Marina, southern Alabama’s premier restaurant, is hiring an experienced front of the house Restaurant Manager. The Playa foundation is built on a dedication to customer service driven by genuine hospitality. We expect these principles to reflect on the manager’s daily work ethic since they will be verbally touching every guest. The manager will report directly to the General manager and will deliver exceptional customer service skills, drive sales with an upbeat and positive personality, as well as, assist in the daily operations of the restaurant.

PROFILE

• 2 + years management experience
• Must be outgoing and comfortable approaching guests at anytime
• Must understand product knowledge and be able to pass that on to individual staff members
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. or more
• Ability to stand for 8 hours or more
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, presentation and written communications skills
• Must have excellent customer service skills and embrace southern hospitality and the ability to respond to guests’ complaints and comments diplomatically

RESPONSIBILITIES

• General opening and closing of the restaurant
• Prepare reports for the end of every shift that includes information about the staff, issues, VIP, weather, cover count being as specific as possible
• Plan and coordinate menus
• Recruit, motivate, train, and manage the team
• Respond to guest’s questions, or complaints
• Meet and greet guests, organize table reservations and offer advice about menus and wine choices
• Touch every table by checking during entree time
• Maintain high standards of quality control, and integrity
• Check stock levels, order supplies, and prepare cash drawers and petty cash
• Keep the bank stocked with sufficient funds and balanced always
• Coordinate the operations of the restaurant during shifts
• Proficiency in data analysis and preparing reports and scheduling accordingly
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule that goes beyond 40-hour work week including evenings, weekend’s and events and holidays
• Maintain restaurant cleanliness and organization to ensure that the team is meeting the set standards
• Continuously having the willingness always to get better
• The ability to lead by example and motivate the team

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38,000.00 – $48,000.00 per year
