Qualifications:Education/Certification:

Proficiency in keyboarding and file maintenance
Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and do word processing

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
HR Support
1. Process and maintain employee records including new hire paperwork, background checks, references, employment eligibility verification, and other application materials.
2. Review and process timely and accurately pay information for new hires, job assignment changes, promotions, supplemental pay, separations, and retirements.
3. Respond to general HR inquiries to ensure a high level of service and responsive, knowledgeable support for employees and managers. Conduct research and resolve discrepancies for management approval. Explain HR policies and practices to employees as appropriate.
4. Maintain human resources information system (HRIS) data and ensure employee information is accurate, current, and reliable.
5. Maintain position control system in an accurate and timely manner. Reconcile job descriptions with position control to ensure that there is a job description for every job. Follow up with managers to make certain that job descriptions are reviewed and updated on a regular basis.
6. Receive and process applications, including verifying completeness of files and notifying those not selected for employment.
Reports and Correspondence
7. Prepare, post, and distribute job vacancy announcements and advertisements.
8. Prepare, maintain, and distribute employee handbook as directed.
9. Prepare correspondence, forms, and reports according to district standards and requirements.
Other
10. Answer and respond to incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
11. Greet visitors and assist employees and applicants to complete applications and required paperwork.
12. Assist with the preparation and distribution of employment contracts.
13. Maintain confidentiality.
14. Follow safety protocols and emergency procedures.
15. Respond to request for verification of employment.
16. Maintain files for all employees and applicants, including receiving and routing of change (e.g., name, address change)
17. Assist with purchase orders.
18. Assist with FMLA, workers comp. and job fairs.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals; imaging equipment
Posture: Frequent walking, standing, bending/stooping, and reaching. Occasional pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Occasional light to moderate lifting and carrying (less than 44 pounds)
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours ; occasional districtwide travel
