The Position
The Plumbing Combination Inspector I and Inspector II inspect plumbing installations of new and remodeled commercial buildings, houses, businesses, and care facilities for compliance with state-adopted codes in the following areas:
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills; listening, speaking, and the ability to articulate complex information to other staff as well as to contractors and to the public. The successful candidate will have the ability to be a team player working closely with those on the inspection team, and follow Building Services procedures in and out of the office. They need to have the experience and capacity to read and interpret complex commercial plans in plumbing. They should also have the ability to self-manage time, inspection route, and workload while working individually in the field. Being open to learning and working with new technology and software that is required to complete inspections and record inspection results will also help the candidate be successful.

Preferred Qualification: Possession of ONE the following:
Oregon Residential Inspector Certification in Structural and Mechanical (CAS) OR
Oregon Residential Inspector Certification in Electrical (CAE)
Plumbing Inspector II

This is a non-represented position and is not covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
Regular and limited duration full-time employees working 30 hours or more per week and job share employees are eligible for benefits beginning on the first of the month following employment. Job share employees are responsible for 50% of the premium. Part-time regular, variable hour, and temporary positions are not eligible for medical, dental, and vision benefits.
