JOB SUMMARY
The Accountant supports the finance department by providing transactional accounting support and analysis.
 :
A TYPICAL DAY COULD INCLUDE:
- Perform general accounting duties as they relate to daily administration of accounting department.
- Assist in maintenance of the general ledger to include the preparation of journal entries, coding of invoices, accounts analysis, reconciliation and month-end duties.
- Assist with the accounts receivables process.
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly financial statements.
- Assist in annual external audit as requested.
- Perform ad hoc analysis as requested.
- Assist with developing and implementing process improvements.
- Work in an honest and ethical manner; maintain confidentiality on all business-related matters.
- Foster a culture of safe behavior and environmental compliance at all times.
- Maintain a team environment at all times and champion POET in the community.

STRENGTHS OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:
- Degree in Accounting or Finance is required: Bachelor’s degree, or Associate’s degree with a minimum of 1-2 years of related experience
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills as well as the ability to adapt to change and work well in a team setting.
- You know the basics of Microsoft Office Suite. You’re capable of learning new programs.

- This position is largely self-directed and requires an understanding of company policy, procedures, and values. Team members will be required to adhere to all safety requirements at all times and in all work environments. This position operates in office environment.
- Specific physical requirements may include:
- Sitting approximately 90% of the time while working on a personal
- Occasionally lifting weights of fifty (50) pounds or less.
