Restaurant Bookkeeper

The Pomona Valley Mining Co is located above I-10 and boasts a panoramic view of the Pomona valley. We are aggressively seeking a very dependable, detail-oriented individual to add to our accounting team. Restaurant experience is preferred.

SUMMARY:

Responsible for ensuring that all Accounting activities are performed effectively, accurately and efficiently. Responsible for protecting the assets and confidentiality of the company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not all inclusive, of the following:

· Communicates with all levels of management including but not limited to Owners, General Manager, and other Managers in an effort to ensure consistency in procedures throughout the property.

· Maintains appropriate and adequate staffing levels in the Accounting Department, by interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, evaluating, disciplining and terminating employees, as necessary.

· Prepares Income Journal and distributes Daily Report.

· Balancing of Daily Cash/Sales reports

· Transmitting credit card files

· Verifying server cash turn in and preparing daily deposit for armored car pickup

· Receives deliveries and ensures that all product is received in good, undamaged condition.

· Researches, authorizes, and processes all invoices for payment. Enters necessary information into computer, and pays invoices in a timely manner.

· Ensures the accurate, timely reporting of all employee Payroll information, to accomplish proper processing and issuance of pay checks for all employees on the property.

· Participates in month end food and beverage inventories, inputs and reviews inventory sheets to ensure accuracy.

· Prepares and posts monthly journal and general journal entries for financial reconciliation of revenue and expense accounts.

· Prepares monthly Operating Reports.

· Prepares monthly financial analysis of General Ledger Accounts for General Manager and Owners.

· Troubleshoots in the areas of system errors and/or audit questions.

· Creates financial spreadsheets, as necessary, on computer and updates information on a regular basis.

· Responsible for maintaining a stable and consistent attendance record.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervises the activities of the Accounting Clerk.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED required. College degree and/or accounting courses or related training preferred, and/or equivalent three to five years related experience and/or training.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess effective communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Must be extremely numbers-oriented and computer-literate, with spreadsheet skills; proficiency in Quickbooks and Microsoft Office. Minimum of three 3 years experience in accounting, preferably in the food and beverage industry. Ability to work effectively under limited supervision.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret financial reports. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, vendors or employees. Ability to effectively communicate information on a one-on-one and small group situation.

HOURS

Sunday 6am to 2:30pm, Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 7am to 3:30pm

WAGE and BENEFITS

$20.00 to $22.00 per hour based on experience
