About The Role
Pop and Bottle is looking for a Senior Accountant to join the finance department, reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager. We are looking for a well rounded accountant who will assist with our daily accounting functions and month end close processes.
Primary Duties:
- Manage and process daily accounts payable duties
- Assist with daily and weekly accounts receivable duties
- Record customer payments with attention to detail in recording deductions
- Provide accounting support to vendors and customers as needed
- Own assigned month-end close processes, prepare account reconciliations, record journal entries, prepare accruals and maintain accurate supporting documentation.
- Prepare monthly sales commission calculations and accruals
- Support business processes by partnering with other departments e.g., Operations and Sales and provide accounting guidance to the teams
- Assist with ad hoc accounting projects as needed with minimal supervision
- Establish and enforce accounting methods, policies and principles in accordance with US GAAP
- Be a key contributor during the annual year end audit process with external audit partners
Who you are:
- 3-5 years of experience in roles directly related to general ledger accounting
- Must have Quickbooks Online experience
- Must have Consumer packaged goods experience
- Able and eager to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, start-up like environment and organize yourself and others, even where there is ambiguity
- Knowledge and clear understanding of US GAAP standards and procedures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in simple terms
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions
- Team player with a demonstrated ability working with cross-functional teams
- Empathy, kindness, and a curiosity for learning are a must!
- Bonus! Experience with Shopify, DEAR/Cin7 Inventory or other ERPs
