About the position
We have an exciting and rewarding career opportunity for the right candidate interested in learning everything back-office in the quick-serve restaurant industry. The Accounting / HR / Office Assistant will be a key member of our small but nimble back-office team. Although
experience in the restaurant industry is preferred, we are willing to train the right highly driven candidate who thrives in fast-paced working environments, has the dexterity to multi-task and shift gears on the fly, has excellent analytical and computer skills and loves digging in deep to identify problems, assist in carrying out improvements and get the job done.
Core Responsibilities:
HR
Compile and maintain personnel records
Process wage garnishments in third-party payroll system, maintain and distribute withholding orders
Assist with employee benefit enrollments
Respond to EDD unemployment claims
Assistance in development and carrying out of HR policies, procedures and training programs
Review of timecards to ensure break and meal periods are taken in accordance to labor codes
Process manual paychecks
Other HR tasks and projects as needed
Accounting
Verify and process mileage reports
Monitor and reconcile credit card purchases to ensure all expenditures are within company guidelines
New vendor setup, verify and process vendor invoices
Correspond with vendors as needed
Daily cash verification; reconcile point of sale system with Brinks safe deposits and bank deposits
Investigate and respond to customer credit card chargebacks
Research and resolve various accounting issues
Prepare a variety of Excel reports using advanced-level Excel functions including vlookups, pivot tables, etc.
Prepare a variety of reports from accounting and point-of-sale software to reconcile or analyze data
Verification of third-party pricing through Door Dash, Grub Hub, Uber Eats and Popeyes apps
Monitor accounting email and process incoming vendor invoices
Identify and assist with carrying out cost-savings and process improvements
Other accounting related tasks as needed
General
Loss prevention including surveillance monitoring; assist in identifying and preventing theft
or fraud
Answer telephones
Distribute and process mail
Run occasional errands for office and restaurant supplies
Assistance scheduling appointments, meetings and travel for Owner/President
Office supplies
Other miscellaneous tasks as needed
Qualifications:
Minimum 5+ years hands-on experience in an administrative support, bookkeeping or HR role.
Background in back-office restaurant industry preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
Advanced working knowledge in Microsoft Office programs with strong emphasis on Excel.
Dedication to accuracy and thoroughness across all tasks.
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
A team player who is proactive, flexible, results-oriented and comfortable in a rapidly changing environment.
Associates Degree preferred
