Job Title: Compensation and Benefits Specialist

The Compensation and Benefits Specialist provides support, administration, and ensures compliance of all company benefits. Assists with the implementation of benefit and compensation initiatives and programs for the company to help attract, motivate, and retain top talent. The individual in this role will serve as a contact for employees and shop leaders regarding benefit plan inquiries and policies. This position will report to the Director, Compensation & Benefits.
Duties include, but not limited to:
Handle daily administration of all Company health and welfare benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, FSA, dependent care, HSA, transit, 401(k), and time off plans. in accordance with plan documents, insurance contracts, vendor agreements and applicable federal, state and local regulations.
Respond timely to daily benefit inquiries or requests from employees, managers and external agencies received via phone, via direct or department emails, or mailed correspondence.
Collaborate with other HR and payroll partners to meet benefit processing deadlines and trouble shoot issues.
Assists with new hire benefit orientation for Support Center employees.
Assist with ongoing benefits communications.
Process benefit eligibility reports monthly (or as needed basis) for all employees.
Prepares and submits necessary employee information, and reports to the payroll department for accurate benefit deduction processing, refunds, time off, within payroll processing timelines.
Maintain employee insurance files electronically.
Manage weekly wires for 401(k) processing.
Liaison with COBRA Administrator to ensure compliance regulations are satisfied.
Update, maintain and review benefit enrollments and benefit data in the HRIS and insurance vendor databases to ensure accurate eligibility and timely data transmittal.
Assist with annual open enrollment cycle, including: the development and delivery of open enrollment materials, and partnering with the HRIS vendor for online enrollment process.
Modifies and runs various ad hoc reports in HRIS; manipulates report data in Microsoft Excel.
Special projects as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.
LEAVE OF ABSENCE ADMINISTRATION
Support Leave Management administration with Matrix, including updating leave status for employees in the payroll system.
Responds to employee inquiries regarding LOA.
PTO and SICK LEAVE ADMINISTRATION
Manage weekly administration of the Paid Time Off program. Review, compile reports, audit, and submit approved PTO time off to payroll for processing.
Process weekly State Sick Leave benefits. Review, compile reports, audit and submit approved Sick Leave for processing with payroll.
Assist with compensation analysis projects as needed.
Support administration of field incentive awards, bonus programs, and annual merit.
Assist with preparation of annual Total Rewards Statements.
Other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS
Must have the ability/stamina to work a minimum of 40 to 50 hours a week.
Have the ability to reach, bend, stoop, and carry. Primarily will be working on the computer.
Ability to engage in problem-solving skills to help identify and solve potential issues. Must be able to communicate heavily through telephone, e-mail, remote meetings and at times, in-person communications
