The Power Generator/Mechanical Repairer repairs, overhauls, inspects and maintains a variety of engine-driven power support systems, including electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic components and appurtenant equipment as a primary assignment; repairs, overhauls, inspects and maintains a variety of mechanical equipment and related items; and performs other related duties as required.

Special Working Conditions: This position is required to have unescorted access to the Joint Traffic Management Center (JTMC). Any employee with unescorted access to secured areas and equipment related to a traffic management center requires a fingerprint-based national criminal history record check prior to assignment to this position authorized by HRS 846-2.7 (b)(37) and in accordance with JTMC Policy No. 2016-B.06, Fingerprint-Based Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) and CHRC Clearance. This position serves as a disaster response worker.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to competently perform the journey level skills and duties of this position. The experience and training must have included one year of work in the repair, maintenance and overhaul of a variety of engine-driven generators, including electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic components and appurtenant equipment.
LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
Valid Hawaii driver’s license (Type 3) prior to appointment.

FINGERPRINTING REQUIREMENT: This position will have unescorted access to the Joint Traffic Management Center (JTMC). Any employee with unescorted access to secured areas and equipment within the JTMC requires a fingerprint-based criminal history record check. Therefore, the selectee will be required to be fingerprinted as part of their employment suitability review. The Department of Human Resources will review fingerprint-based state and national criminal history record information from the Hawaii Criminal Justice Data Center and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
