PPG Aerospace has an exciting opportunity available for a Chemical Management Solutions Manager (CMS) at our Savannah, GA location. As the CMS Manager, you will oversee a local warehouse team and network of stock locations dedicated to assuring all managed chemical supplies are available to support our aerospace customer. You will oversee an inventory team dedicated to providing the right materials at the right time to our aerospace customer! You not only lead a dynamic team, but also serve as the customer’s go-to contact for all CMS operations at their facility. You will report to the CMS Regional Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
· Build a relationship with customer contacts to understand their program’s changing needs, resolve issues, and communicate all aspects affecting their schedule.
· Be available during and outside of normal business hours for escalations.
· Hire and train a customer-centric team focused on
· Manage daily operations of supervisors, coordinators, analysts, material handlers, and truck drivers to support customer operations.
· Implement the CMS program as defined by contract terms the life over of the program.
· Help Identify annual cost savings projects and develop appropriate strategies to meet PPG profitability goals and customer cost savings goals.
· Establish and meet inventory targets necessary to support the customer’s operations while balancing department’s working capital goals, i.e. reduced costs and material scrap.
· Intervene when supplier issues arise and implement resolutions.
· Analyze and implement best methods for inventory levels, distribution, transportation, and storage of chemicals for the program.
· Partner with the Account Manager to develop a strategic, long-term plan for customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field or a business-related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
· 5+ years of proven experience in warehouse management, customer service, sales, manufacturing, technology, or technical support.
· Experience in the following areas is beneficial: business process analysis & improvement, LEAN & six sigma, 5S quality assurance, strategic sourcing, team facilitation, materials management, enterprise resource planning (ex. QAD, SAP), and cost reduction.
· Work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Business Managers.
· Digital literacy in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.
· The ability to evaluate the industrial work environment.
· Ability to travel up to 30%.
· Must be U.S. Citizen or Permanent resident.
