The Presidio Data Center Consulting Architect has the appropriate technical knowledge and experience required to architect and carry out implementation of a high-performance computing, hyperconverged infrastructure and hybrid on/off prem multi-cloud solutions. They work with Presidio account teams and customers to deliver high-performance computing, hyperconverged infrastructure and hybrid on/off prem multi-cloud solutions projects. Due to the complex nature of such projects in customer environments, engagements can include various aspects of project planning, architecture/design, requirements analysis, installation, implementation, optimization, documentation, and limited customer support processes. This is a challenging position with extensive opportunity for career advancement.

Key Responsibilities

The essential responsibilities of the Principal Architect are to work directly with customers and account managers in pre-sales situations, and to work effectively across functions with other Presidio employees in Sales, Marketing, Proposals, and Project Management areas. Specific responsibilities include:

Building credibility with clients and help set long term client strategy and direction.

Interfacing with Presidio Pre-Sales Engineers.

Interfacing with other Presidio Data Center engineers for support with various parts of an overall solution.

Meeting with clients to determine and capture detailed requirements.

Clarifying a client’s system specifications, understanding their work practices and the nature of their business.

Creating high-level implementation plans when required.

Travelling to customer sites.

Liaising with staff at all levels of a client organization.

Defining software, hardware, and network requirements.

Developing agreed solutions and implementing new systems.

Presenting solutions in written or oral reports.

White-boarding complete or partial solutions.

Creating project deliverables.

Helping clients with change-management activities.

Designing, installing, integrating, testing, and monitoring new systems.

Preparing and presenting progress reports to customers.

Organizing training for users and other engineers.

Provide knowledge transfer sessions around data center technologies to clients.

Contribute and refine the team?s process and methodology, including documentation of how an engagement is delivered.
