TITLE: Accountant

STATUS: Full Time DEPARTMENT: Business Office

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

SUMMARY: Prepare and maintain accounting, reports related to financial and human resources activities within PRIDE, Inc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor degree in Accounting required.

EXPERIENCE: Accounting, Non-Profits, office management; computers and human resource functions.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Ability to perform all accounting functions, with comprehensive understanding of GAAP (accrual based) financial reporting.

Ability to work with fund accounting systems and develop reports and programs as needed.

Ability to communicate effectively, train, supervise, and evaluate employees.

Ability to critique systems/procedures, and take needed corrective action.

Ability to work effectively within a team and employ excellent time management skills.

Knowledge of QuickBooks a must.

DUTIES:

• Prepares and maintains a computerized accounting system.
• Maintains all accounting records in accordance with acceptable standards.
• Maintains payroll and administrative data.
• Reconciles and transmits bi-weekly state and federal payroll taxes and 403B payments.
• Reconciles bank statements on a monthly basis.
• Prepare accounts payable/receivable Journal Entries on a timely basis.
• Records staff and individuals’ payrolls.
• Prepares and maintains all Federal and State tax reports.
• Prepare monthly Treasurer’s Report and related financial reports.
• Prepares all state and federal financial and related reports.
• Prepares all contract billings and maintains accurate and current receivables listing.
• Coordinates with Director of Operations on past due commercial accounts receivable.
• Prepares all accounts payable checks and maintains updated, accurate bank records.
• Provides training, orientation, supervision, and evaluation of assigned staff.
• Participates as a member of the Management Team.
• Communicates effectively verbally and in written reports with the Executive Director.
• Works with the Executive Director to design specialized reports.
• Responsible for cross-training in all functions of the administrative office and able to assume the responsibilities in instances when another member of the office is absent.
• Coordinates and maintains employee insurance and benefit programs.
• Oversees HR functions including record maintenance, as required by federal, state and local regulations, licenses, and accreditations.
• Perform any other duties deemed necessary by the Executive Director.

* Excessive absenteeism or any absence without notice

* Unauthorized absence from work station during the workday

* Unauthorized use of telephones, mail system, computer systems, or other employer-owned equipment

* Unauthorized disclosure of information in violation of confidentiality policies

* Violation of personnel policies

* Unsatisfactory performance or conduct

Employment with PRIDE is at the mutual consent of PRIDE Inc. agency and the employee, and either party may terminate that relationship at any time, with or without cause, and with or without advance notice.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
