The Prince George’s County Government Board of Elections is seeking qualified applicants to fill a General Clerk position, grade G06, within its Elections Operations Division.About The Position
This is dually allocated entry level work involving a number of simple clerical processes which may include: alphabetizing, filing, tabulating, coding, sorting, telephone/reception duties, typing, processing routine records, and key entering and retrieving data. Work in this class can be learned readily by on-the-job training and is performed with in accordance established policies and procedures. Work assignments are usually routine and repetitive in nature and are performed under close supervision. Work performance is evaluated in terms of quantity, quality and accuracy. Incumbents may be required to work a rotating shift.
Incumbents in this position are considered an “Essential Employee,” during an election cycle. The election cycle begins three (3) months prior to an election and one (1) month following the election. As an “Essential Employee,” you will not be authorized to take a leave of absence and you will be required to work specified weekends and holidays. The incumbent in this position must be able to lift and carry supplies/equipment up to fifty (50) pounds and must have excellent computer, data entry and analytical skills.
