Prism Health Lab Hiring for Medical Billing and Coding Specialist Job at Chicago, IL Full Time

• Making sure that codes are assigned correctly and sequenced appropriately as per government and insurance regulations

• Complying with medical coding guidelines and policies

• Receiving and reviewing patients’ charts and documents for verification and accuracy

• Following up and clarifying any information that is not clear to other staff members

• Collecting information made by the Physician/Advanced Practice Providers from different sources to prepare monthly reports

• Implementing strategic procedures and choosing strategies and evaluation methods that provide correct results

• Examining any medical malpractice that has been reported by analyzing and identifying the medical procedures, diagnoses or events that lead to the negligence

• Must have experience with billing for COVID-19 services, including, but not limited to: COVID-19 billing codes with associated rates, and experience with reimbursements from Medicare/Medicaid

• Must have experience with enrollment of practitioners (specifically, for insurance billing)

• MUST have relevant certificate/diploma/associates degree (related to Medical billing)

• Accreditation from AAPC is preferred

• Good decision-making skills, which will help to analyze diagnoses and medical records to determine the best way to code them for patients’ medical records

• Attention to detail, which is required to accurately record and code patient data

• Good communication and interpersonal abilities, even in high-stress situations like billing discrepancies or rejected insurance claims

• Computer skills, such as word processing, spreadsheet, and database software, including electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical coding and classification program

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.74 – $24.55 per hour
