Private Teacher – New York City (Downtown)

About The Role

Opportunity to teach and engage two young boys under the age of 6 in their home.

• Ensure the well-being and development of children (toddler and infant) in your care.
• Create educational, rich, thematic units that foster children’s curiosity and help them achieve key individual and age-appropriate milestones
• Plan and implement inquiry-based activities and curriculum tailored towards children’s developmental growth
• Create curriculum focused on Athletics, Language, Math, Science and Culture, Sensory, and Art.
• Engage with and enrich children using positive language, loving care, and interactive play.
• Closely supervise children and adhere to robust health and safety protocols. Take children to and from classes (by walking or car service ) as needed.
• Light cooking and cleaning.

• Enjoy working with young learners and engage with children actively.
• Have 3-5 years of experience working in a Teacher capacity at a daycare, pre-school or elementary school
• Hold a Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field.
• Are already or are willing to be CPR and First Aid certified
• Are fully vaccinated against COVID and influenza

What We Offer:

Competitive Compensation and Benefits: Salary of $40,000 for part-time (20 hours/2-days) or $80,000 for full time (40 hours/4-days). Weekly schedules will be given in advance, no Fridays. Full time employees also receive benefits including health, vision, and dental insurance.

Child-Centered Approach: Educators facilitate each child’s success by observing their interests and developing a curriculum inspired by their curiosity.

Education space: Space includes a classroom and private garden intentionally designed to offer endless opportunities for learning and discovery. Educational material provided.

Physical demands of this position include but are not limited to sitting and standing for extended periods, bending at the waist, reaching overhead, and frequently moving or lifting children weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
