As a claims adjuster for fire and theft, youxe2x80x99ll be a vital part of our Claims team. In this role, youxe2x80x99ll investigate and resolve fire and theft damage claims. Along with analyzing coverage and liability, youxe2x80x99ll own repair management, vehicle damage assessment and rental management. This is a hybrid role. Youxe2x80x99ll be expected to to an office about four days per month for important meetings, training, and collaboration and will have the benefit of continued coaching from a supportive team. If you prefer an in-office environment, youxe2x80x99re welcome to work in the office more than four days per month. Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversee vehicle inspections most commonly for fire, theft recovery losses, and vandalism damage; ensure damage is consistent with the of loss and verify timelines
• Complete thorough recorded statements of all potential claiming parties and material parties
• Consult with agents, witnesses, law enforcement, fire department personnel, vehicle service providers, and forensic specialists
• Manage rental and determines whether a vehicle should be declared a total loss
  • If repairable, guide vehicle through repair process
  • If a total loss, gather appropriate title documents, negotiate and settle the total loss, and oversees salvage process

Must-have qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher or a minimum of two years of relevant work experience and/or post-secondary education (e.g., claims adjuster experience, a property damage adjuster, or repair work within an automobile repair and/or body shop OR work experience in a position that developed or required the ability to think critically, solve problems, effectively communicate verbally and in writing, and embrace new challenges)
• Must have successfully completed the Fire and Investigations Course by Claims University (or complete within 3 months of hiring into position).
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and compliance with Progressive’s driving standards and/or policies

Compensation

• Salary is commensurate with experience and based on geographical location. Salary range for Salem location – $61,500 – $68,300/year. For Tigard location – $68,000 – $75,100/year.
• Gainshare bonus up to 16% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
