PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTION:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for generating sales in existing and new customers. Will work closely with Recruiting and other key departments to maintain client business relationships with a “customer for life” approach, and by ensuring quality and consistency in the delivery of services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Expected to develop long term relationships in the IT and business community
· Maintains principle focus of delivering satisfaction and value for existing and prospective customers, relying on proven, effective customer service approachCompiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from internet, social media sites, business newspapers, business directories, industry ads, networking activities, job fairs, trade shows, and other sources
· Travels throughout assigned territory to call on existing and prospective customers, to promote targeted menu of services; performs timely follow-up and customer service activities by phone or e-mail
· Prepares Client Service Agreements for orders obtained; adheres to established pricing/gross margin system and client credit policies
· Works closely with Operations and other key staff to investigate and address customer questions, complaints and concerns in a timely manner, and willingly assumes leadership role to identify satisfactory resolution(s)
· Maintains customer/prospect database and related correspondence by utilizing company CRM and Outlook; thoroughly documents customer contact and related activities; works with Operations and other key staff to keep customer activities, records up to date
· Conducts sales presentations for existing and prospective customers, working in concert with Recruiting Dept, Marketing Dept, other key staff; effectively negotiates and closes deals
· Coordinates new customer orientation and “hand-holding” process with Operations and/or other key staff, based on Client Services Agreement and other criteria
· Schedules periodic follow-up visits to customer sites to observe and evaluate activities and to gather feedback from supervisory personnel; when appropriate, delivers customer appreciation gifts as well as food/recognition incentives for deserving temporary associates
· Works closely with key staff to develop and implement strategic sales plan and revenue/profit objectives
· Consistently meets established sales/gross margin targets for assigned segment/territory determined thru monthly, quarterly, and annual sales/marketing analysis and planning, relying upon creative, proven selling strategies
· Prepares periodic reports/updates showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion; prepares and manages leads analysis data and summaries of prospecting transactions
· Assists Finance Dept. with customer collections activities and application of credit policies
· Makes every effort to meet activity goals related to metrics of calls, meetings necessary to meet result expectations
SECONDARY LEVEL JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Provides professional, clear, timely, accurate verbal and written communications
· Maintains a pleasant and professional manner in all business dealings, ensuring a positive image/reflection for self and company
· Assists in the collection and/or creation of marketing and/or public relations materials to help drive branding efforts; represents company at job fairs, trade shows, etc. promoting quality and depth of services
· Demonstrates effective knowledge and skills related to organization, planning, and time management
· Participates as key team player by supporting Operations and/other designated staff, as needed
Education/Experience:
Bachelors Degree with 3 years of outside sales experience, preferably selling business and/or technical services. Efficient working knowledge and skill with CRM software, including Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook.
