HR Generalist – University Setting
We have partnered with a well-known College located in Cambridge that has an immediate permanent opening & need for an HR Generalist. As one of the more established universities in Boston, this position offers great exposure to all facets of HR along with the ability to work alongside dynamic professionals. Polished administrative experience is a must as you will manage the front desk area by answering phones, sending emails, filing, and handling any faculty questions or concerns.
This is a great opportunity to have assist and have a positive impact on student and University staff. The ideal new hire would need to have prior experience with visa processing and all tasks that are involved. This college has a robust international student population. Responsibilities:
. Supporting approx. 1000 students, faculty, and staff with HR needs
. Reporting to the College’s HR Manager for any escalated requests
. Playing an active role in recruitment, onboarding, and other HR documenting procedures
. Processing visas for international students
. Support the HR team in the planning and execution of HR focused events such as open houses, meet ups, campus career fairs, and presence at industry events
. Assist with additional ad hoc projects such as updating social media pages, blog posts, and running weekly and monthly reports for HR leadership
Requirements:
. 2 years of prior experience in a human resources role in a business and/or University setting
. Bachelor’s Degree preferred with concentration in HR or a similar field
. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook (scheduling and email), Word (drafting letters, editing documents), Excel (sorting information, templates, formatting, basic formulas) and PowerPoint (editing slides)
. Must have prior experience processing visas
. Customer service mindset and a positive, can-do attitude
