DODGE COUNTY JOB POSTING: Public Health Director
REPORTS TO: County Administrator
HOURS: 8:00 – 4:30 P.M. M-F; occasional evenings and weekends as needed
JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for managing, administering and overseeing the long-range plans, direction and strategic objectives of Dodge County Public Health and for implementing the policies, goals and directives as approved by the County Board. The Public Health Director implements the department directives and goals through overseeing and supervising the activities of the Public Health Departments and the Lead Positions who are charged with the implementation of the daily operations. In addition, this position may be (TBD) responsible for serving as the Community Health Services Administrator to a joint Dodge/Steele Community Health Board (CHB)
WAGE RANGE: $75,868 – $104,934 (Negotiable based on experience)
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides leadership and oversight in the implementation and delivery of all public health policies and programs.
Oversees, manages and provides direction to the Lead Positions, Business Office Manager and administrative support staff of the departments. Also provides oversight of all staff indirectly through department supervisory personnel.
Facilitates collaboration among external organizations, government officials, community groups, professionals and members of the community to develop effective Public Health public policy.
Directs agency planning activities, operations, directions and objectives for the Public Health Department.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other staff members, representatives of other agencies, clients, and the general public. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Community Health, Nursing, Environmental Health, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field. A Master’s Degree is highly desirable. Four years of public health experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Flexibility in scheduling, including possible evening and weekend presentations or visits, to meet diverse client and community needs. Ability to do visits in homes that may not be handicap accessible. See Job Description for complete list.
