Job Summary

Consider your next career move to become an Account Clerk within the Office of Indiana State Chemist (OISC). This position is part of an accounting team that supports a nationally recognized agency that strives to protect Indiana’s agriculture, environment, and the public.

What You’ll be Doing:

• Manage the Feed Quarterly Tonnage process with printing, sorting, and mailing reports, maintaining the delinquent company spreadsheet, accurate entry into database, clearly communicating discrepancies and account balances with clients, tracking reports received and maintaining an organized system for filing all paperwork and electronic correspondence.
• Assist with incoming mail and direct to appropriate recipients during renewal season. Create records of payments received daily by mail. Customer service and communication – includes internal collaboration and communication with the regulated industry. Problem-solve when necessary and present possible solutions to supervisor.
• Provide support and back up for all accounting processes to improve performance and efficiency. Identify and determine problems, analyze information, and implement solutions.
• Taking advantage of the opportunity to learn other tasks and grow within a strong regulatory agency

What You Must Have:

• High school diploma/GED
• Three (3) years of customer service and financial/business experience
• Excellent customer service skills
• Professionalism
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
• Motivated individual with ability to efficiently multitask, work under pressure, handle frequent interruptions and meet deadlines
• Ability to identify and determine problems, analyze information, and implement solutions

• Ability to maintain a positive and collaborative work environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Typing, drafting, filing, data entry and editing skills
• Strong time management and organizational skills with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail
