PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Network Engineer-III is a member of the Network Operations Center team that will manage and operate the 5Q internal network, as well all supported client’s network and infrastructure environments. Will serve as the escalation Subject Matter Expert (SME) for network problems, troubleshooting, issue isolation, and incident response.
DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, and ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Provide input to architecture and implement network/infrastructure topologies.
2. Design all aspects of IT networks for clients, to include corporate, remote or property level, whether new or improving the efficiency of current networks.
3. Perform triage, troubleshooting and break-fix duties for technical infrastructure issues.
4. Provide last level of escalated support for all network issues including availability, reliability, configuration management, and design.
5. Detailed working knowledge of IP Addressing, VLANs, Port Trunking, and Layer 3 routing
6. Professional knowledge of data center facilities and operation.
7. Adherence to SOC 2 Type 2 compliance requirements.
8. Define and implement Configuration Standards for all networks.
9. Meet or exceed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for response and resolution.
10. Identifying automation and continuous process improvement opportunities.
11. Identifying issues, trends, and system malfunctions
12. Working knowledge of Network Monitoring and Management tools and processes
13. Mentoring to junior level resources (NOC, Tier 2 & Tier 1 teams)
14. Ownership of NOC engagement in Incident, Problem and Change Management.
15. Communicating at all levels, including clients, ends users, 5Q Leadership & peers.
16. Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE and SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Minimum of 8yrs experience in networking, routing, and infrastructure operations.
2. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
3. Proven track record of successfully working within a Network Operations Center.
4. Inspired to learn new technologies and excited around the advancement in technology.
5. Knowledge of company deployed and supported network infrastructure.
6. Expert knowledge with various network devices (ie Meraki, Cisco ASA, Ubiquiti, Fortinet, etc.)
7. Ability to plan strategically, lead, and be innovative.
8. Requires sound interpersonal skills.
9. Highly motivated, team oriented, and ability to be a self-starter.
10. Passion for and commitment to exceptional customer service.
11. 2-4yrs experience with a Managed Service Provider (MSP) in a NOC environment
12. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
13. Experience with PowerShell, Python or other scripting language.
14. Strong presentation and documentation skills
15. Knowledge of Cyber Security fundamentals
16. Willing to travel
