Job Summary:

This Medical Customer Service will oversee and assist customer service employees in the performance of their job duties such as responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues or complaints.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Answer phone inquiries regarding health care coverage’s premiums, eligibility, rates, account status, claims, billing, address changes, benefit verification and supply requests
• Investigate and resolve customer problems and disputes in a timely and efficient manner
• Document phone calls using on line systems
• Process paperwork for insurance providers and carriers which include additions, deletions, confirmation letters, data entry forms, adjusting invoices, changing beneficiaries, and issuing certificates of insurance
• Maintain accurate record & documents
• Have working knowledge of the health care sponsored plans, keep reference materials current, keep abreast of carrier changes and marketing campaigns

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Health plan customer service experience required
• Commercial / Medicare / Medicaid required
• Self-funded TPA experience is a PLUS
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Extensive knowledge of customer service procedures and principles.

• Organized with attention to detail.

• Ability to resolve customer complaints and issues while maintaining a professional and calm demeanor.

• Ability to coach and mentor customer service representatives.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

• At least three years of customer service experience required.

• Previous experience in a supervisory role preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,000.00 – $40,000.00 per year
