Senior Full Stack Developer

Location: Remote with occasional travel to Washington DC

You will be part of a small team developing and deploying a 3D data repository and system of record for the Digitization Program Office at the Smithsonian Institution. DPO is developing an in-house solution to support 3D workflows with plans to release the system under an open source license. As a member of the development team, you’ll support full-stack development efforts on both the front- and back-end systems using React and Express. As a developer you’ll have a chance to apply your C# or Java programming expertise in this new technology stack. This is a highly collaborative team working to create a new tool in a rapidly emerging marketplace.

You should be prepared to demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

5+ years of experience developing modern MVC-style applications within C#/.Net, Java/Spring, or similar framework

Experience with NodeJS and Typescript is a plus

Experience with Express (or similar frameworks), Prisma (or similar ORMs), and React (or similar frameworks)

Experience with fundamental ES6 syntax, structures, and practices

Advanced proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and SASS

Experience with relational databases, web-based APIs (REST, SOAP, RPC, etc.), and data modeling a plus

Professional experience with Git

Be able to use Git in a team environment and in public repositories

Debug and resolve common Git errors and conflicts

Maintain a clean working history

Familiarity with GitHub and pull requests a plus

Professional experience working with a remote team

Agile-styled meetings, planning, and reporting

Experience with generating documentation for end users

Experience with reporting work through Jira or similar project management software

Familiarity with UI/UX practices a big plus
