Reingold, a social impact marketing and communications firm in Alexandria, Virginia, is looking for an experienced (6+ years) Senior HR Generalist to join our HR team.
We seek the usual things in our future colleague: intelligence, great attention to detail, exceptional skills in time management and human resources administration, and experience with diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives as well as benefits and compensation. But we’re also looking for more: strong initiative, willingness to work hard and think hard, commitment to the team, and an eagerness to chart unfamiliar territory.
Sound Like You? Read On!
This role will have serious chops guiding HR administration, employee relations, and company policy. You’ll be part of a whip-smart group of HR professionals, supporting digital marketers and creative experts who are committed to advancing client causes in health care, education, the veteran community, and more.
Here’s what you would do on a day-to-day basis:
Develop and administer new policies, approaches, and processes regarding employee relations; and federal and state compliance.
Recommend, design, and develop the implementation of compensation and benefit programs that strive for competitive positioning, so that we attract and retain top talent and maintain equity among employees, in a cost-effective way.
Manage the workflow and the administration of the HR department and programs.
Build programs and lead activities that promote Reingold’s culture and values, employee recognition and rewards programs, and employee well-being.
Provide support, ideas, and collaboration with diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to meet organizational goals.
Provide confidential advice, guidance, and support across the organization regarding a broad range of employee relations issues, performance issues and disciplinary action, manager-employee communications, employee engagement, conflict resolution, investigations, work authorizations, and accommodations.
Anticipate, manage, and resolve complex, sensitive employee relations matters. Provide guidance to HR support staff in navigating employee matters professionally and in a timely manner.
Manage worker safety issues and propose policies that foster a safe, collaborative, equitable, and effective hybrid office environment.
Proactively evaluate human resource information systems, staff surveys, and ad hoc data to identify trends within Reingold and employee satisfaction to develop strategic recommendations that lead to timely actions.
Develop and drive HR communications with and to our staff members at all levels to foster employee engagement and awareness, and provide clear guidance to reach desired outcomes.
Adhere to employment laws and requirements; track data to support compliance.
Mentor and supervise direct reports.
This role is a good fit for someone with the following qualifications and skills:
At least 6 years of experience in a fast-paced HR generalist role at a communications or marketing agency.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Experience driving in-house HR processes, protocols, and goals.
Understanding of fair employment practices and confidentiality standards.
Ability to apply concepts of diversity, equity, and inclusion to all work.
Excellent communication skills and experience presenting training sessions to groups of various sizes.
Ability to work independently and within a team.
Highly organized, action-oriented, and collaborative, with strong interpersonal skills.
Experience with computer and database applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
SHRM certification is a plus.
Reingold offers competitive salaries, a comprehensive benefits package, a fun (and sometimes zany) workplace culture, and growth opportunities in a variety of specialty areas. That means when we find good people (and they find us), they stay around for the long term.
Workspace flexibility, too! Reingold employees are working remotely until we can safely return to the offices. We know that creativity happens in different ways for different people, so when our offices open, we’re going hybrid: Staff members will be allowed to choose how many days they want to work in the office. We’d just like to have you close enough to be able to come in when needed to support the work.
Reingold is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer. Women, minorities, veterans, and people with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
