About the Organization
Rianda House, founded in 2008, is a welcoming activity and resource hub for adults 50 – 100+ offering no-cost weekly wellness and enrichment programs to promote active and healthy aging. The center serves the northern Napa Valley communities of St. Helena, Calistoga, Angwin, Pope Valley, Berryessa Estates,
Rutherford, Oakville and Yountville. Older adults are the fastest growing population, and we experience annual growth in attendance with an average of 1,000 individuals who make 11,750 visits to either our main St. Helena facility or off-site locations. We leverage our strong partnership with more than 22 local agencies to ensure older adults have easy access to specialized services, links, and classes for individuals with chronic illness. Together with our partners, we bring services that would not otherwise be available locally. Job Summary
The Development & Engagement Manager (DEM) is responsible for the continued implementation and expansion of fundraising and marketing strategies to grow a strong diverse base of philanthropic support, engage and inspire new and existing participants, and increase public awareness of Rianda House, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The DEM reports to the Executive Director and is an integral part of a small nimble team, supported by an active Board and volunteer team. Key responsibilities include ensuring the growth and stability of multi-faceted revenue streams which include individual giving (major, pledges, and planned gifts), institutional giving (foundations, grantors, corporate and civic), and special events (fundraising, outreach, and advocacy). The DEM will expand brand identity and manage all aspects of day- to-day marketing communication to raise organization awareness and strengthen program outreach.

Key Responsibilities

• Nurture ongoing relationships and foster awareness among a diverse group of stakeholders.

• Lead efforts to raise annual operating revenue ($615k) to support program growth.

• Assist the Fund Development Committee in strengthening and building annual and long-term fundraising capacity though multi-year giving, major gifts campaigns, fundraising events and timely personalized donor recognition.

• Strengthen donor retention and attract new donors by expanding cost-effective targeted and compelling appeals; and refine fundraising events and campaigns.

• Manage the comprehensive, timely, and innovative stewardship of all gifts.

• Oversee gift record-keeping using a donor management software (Bloomerang) and financial management systems to analyze progress against plans, monitor expenses and fundraising efficiencies, and ensure security of all donor records.

• Assist the Director with the development of grant proposals and reporting, including adherence to donor-restricted funds. Work closely with the Operations Manager and Program Director on funding compliance and reporting.

• Act as highly proficient Public Information Officer to write press releases, editorials, white papers, letters to the editor, social media posts, announcements, and alerts.

• Amplify the organization’s mission/story, programs, and special events by gathering stories, testimonials, and photographs to create compelling and engaging outreach materials that accurately reflect the desired message and goals of Rianda House.

• Research, write and assist the Executive Director in delivering speaking presentations.

• Maintain and coordinate the annual marketing and fundraising calendar.

• Manage, plan, and coordinate all fundraising, friend-raisers, volunteer and donor events.

• Coordinate and manage outside services with IT, graphics, and web host vendors.

• Provide strategic and marketing management of all donor and program materials including stakeholder communications, website, mail appeals, press releases, newsletters, monthly activity calendar and program flyers, brochures, press coverage articles, and annual report.

• Coordinate, communicate and engage Board, staff, volunteers, and committees to keep them apprised of upcoming fundraising and marketing campaigns to create synergy and buy-in.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated success in assisting with a development program, of comparable size, and non-profit fundraising experience.

• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to inspire funding support for an organization’s mission.

• Strong track record of professional success in identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major donors

(private, foundations, and corporate)

• Experience with grant writing, impact reports, surveys, and year-end reports.

• An understanding of best practices and emerging trends in development and marketing for a small NPOs.

• Knowledge of Napa and Bay Area funding and the health and human services community strongly preferred.

• Proven analytical and strategic skills, with experience creating strategic fundraising plans and objectives, and detail-oriented follow-through.

• Experience with event development, planning, management, coordination, and promotion.

• Must be proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, web content management systems; virtual meeting tools (Zoom). Preference will be given to candidates with expertise with CRM software (Bloomerang) and donor reporting; and graphic programs (Adobe, and Publisher).

• Bi-lingual (Spanish) speaker is very desirable.

• Valid California Driver’s License and own mode of transportation.

• Must pass background check.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. (currently virtually).
Occasional night and weekend work required.

COVID-19 considerations:
At this time, all classes and programs are being offered virtually. Staff works remotely Monday – Friday and meet frequently and routinely 4 times a week. We access the facility as necessary.
