POSITION – OPERATIONS MANAGER

POSITION BACKGROUND.

We believe farmers and ranchers are the unsung heroes of our world. They work tirelessly to feed a planet of some 8 billion people, rewarded with neither fortune nor fame, not even a thank you sir/ma’am.

Ritchey Livestock ID manufacturers a $1.00 plastic identification tag for livestock. While we owe farmers and ranchers so much more, the least we can do is to get this small task right for them. POSITION SUMMARY.

This is a full-time position for a B2C agricultural manufacturing company in Brighton, Colorado. We are looking for a dynamic, hands-on, experienced ops manager to oversee certain areas of manufacturing, inventory, shipping & receiving.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES.

Always starting with our farmers and ranchers in mind …

• Hire, train/develop, & lead engraving, packing and shipping team to assure the delivery of high-quality products to our valued customers.
• Develop and ensure the achievement of manufacturing goals related to quality, cost, delivery, safety, and morale. Build and refine processes to ensure overall operations excellence.
• Work side by side your team in a very hands-on, proactive, manner.
• Operate numerous pieces of equipment from forklift to engraving machines to heat sealers and everything in between.
• Lead the monthly inventory process.
• Analyze costs and seek out cost reduction projects and new production projects.
• Manage a small group of vendors such as Fedex.
• Participate in and contribute to leadership team meetings.
• Prepare for tradeshows.

KEY EXPERTISE & REQUIREMENTS.

• Put in the extra hours and weekends during busy season and take afterhours/weekend phone calls as needed.
• Strong leadership skills including ability to motivate employees, resolve conflict, and encourage teamwork.
• Excellent communications skills at both the senior management level and the shop floor as well as ability to communicate with customers when needed.
• A high degree of initiative and a strong analytical ability to solve problems without a manual.
• Extremely well organized, self-motivated, and able to establish and act on priorities.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of managing production, production control/scheduling, shipping/receiving, quality and process improvement.
• 3+ years of proven supervisory experience.
• At ease working with different software and within MS Office – especially Excel.
• Bonus points – a background in livestock agriculture.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS.

• Less than 2/3 of work time spent sitting, working on computer using keyboard, talking on the telephone. Over 1/3 of work time spent moving around and actively working with and managing team.
• Some exposure to loud, continuous noise.
• Ability to lift 50-75 pounds.
