Essential Duties:
1. Performs problem determination and resolution on assigned work orders and/or service requests according to Desktop and LAN guidelines. Follows troubleshooting procedures to determine cause of problems with hardware, software and LAN connectivity. Resolves problems by making changes to current configurations, reinstalling software, replacing broken components, or escalation to the proper resource when required.
2. Install and configure desktop hardware and software at the direction of the Network Services Supervisor, Network Administrator, or Network and Telecommunications Manager. This includes the completion of approved and assigned work orders that include installation and/or updates to PC software an/or hardware. Provides testing and termination/re-termination (patching) of cabling as needed during project implementations and or desktop configurations.
3. Educates and assists users with connectivity questions, and desktop usage.
REQUIRMENTS:
Work Experience:
Two years of experience in desktop/peripheral devices, installation/deployment and support.
License/Registration/Certification
A+ certification preferred.
- Strong oral communications skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Knowledge of hardware and software requirements.
- Ability to operate hand and power equipment, including but not limited to, power screw drivers, drills, vacuum cleaners, soldering irons and computer equipment in a safe manner and in accordance with department and Hospital Safety procedures.
- Good inter-personal skill and abilities.
- Extensive computer experience, both on hardware and software.
- Knowledge of electronics and computer equipment maintenance .
