Job Summary:
The Cardiac Rehab Certified Nursing Assistant performs various duties assisting the staff in the treatment and care of participants. He/She shall work harmoniously with the participants, personnel and others. The Nursing Assistant demonstrates integrity, dependability, honesty, resourcefulness and enthusiasm for work.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs routine set up and monitoring of participants.
- Takes and records vital signs in an accurate and precise manner
- Reports to RN any changes observed in the condition or behavior of participant.
- Attends to participants needs answering questions as appropriate
- Assists in cleaning and maintenance of equipment and Fitness Center as needed
- Assists professional staff with the set-up of exercise area and daily inspection of equipment
Education and Credentials:
- Must be a high-school graduate or successfully completed the GED. Must have completed a Nursing Assistant Program and be certified in the state of Illinois.
- Current CPR certification.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- An interest in spending time, energy and enthusiasm to a program designed to improve all the lives of those with cardiovascular disease and their families.
- Assists as directed in emergency situations
- Other duties as capable and assigned by professional staff
- Reinforces concept of healthy lifestyle by words and actions
- Must have good communication skills and ability to operate designated computer equipment
- Must be in good physical health and able to work under pressure.
