Rochelle Community Hospital Hiring For Cardiac Rehab RN 1st Shift Part Time at Rochelle, IL  Full Time

Job Summary:
The Cardiac Rehab RN evaluates Cardiac patients and formulates a nursing plan of care; implements the plan; evaluates the patient’s and families nursing care needs and provides health educational needs for patients.  Manages patient care assignments; demonstrates professional and clinical competence; provides age specific care; supports program compliance and maintenance of all records and logs; provides daily clinical nursing services.
Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Desire to work within a comprehensive health care team.

3. Serves as a resource to members of the clinical team in understanding the needs of the patient population.
4. Responsible for Initial assessment of the participant and assists in the development of the plan of care.
5. Supervise exercise session, monitoring participants for inappropriate responses to exercise.  Responsible for blood pressure checks on all participants’ pre and post exercise making appropriate referrals and/or recommendations to the participant, other staff and the Medical Director.
6. Reports and significant participant conditions to the physician supervising the program immediately.  Initiates ACLS measures and/or emergency care according to Hospital Policy.
7. Leads participant education sessions in all areas of nursing expertise.
8. Perform scanning of Holter Monitor recordings.
9. Perform necessary paperwork for participant record keeping and billing.

Education and Credentials:

1. Diploma, Associate or Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
2. One year of recent and relevant experience in a Coronary Care, Intensive Care setting or Cardiac Rehabilitation
3. Current and valid license with the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation; current CPR and ACLS certifications required.              

Knowledge and Skill Requirements
 

1. A strong command of knowledge required to manage Cardiac and Pulmonary patients.
2. Ability to navigate and effectively utilize the software and technology used in the department.
3. Good communication skills and ability to work independently
4. Ability to use proper body mechanics when lifting, pushing and pulling
5. Ability to work with equipment
6. Keeps current in the field of Cardiac Rehabilitation through journals, in-services, and conferences.
7. Performs other duties as assigned
8. Understands and applies emergency plan and procedures
9. Maintains a neat and safe work area; removes and/or reports any equipment malfunctions.
10. Checks emergency supplies and equipment for proper function and adequate supply on a regular basis.
