Job Summary
The Human Resources Generalist that will provide expertise and support in the areas of Performance Management, Employee Relations, Employee Engagement, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Policy and Procedure Development, and HR Compliance. This position reports to President & CEO.
Key Responsibilities/Outcomes
Prepare and analyze HR metrics and provide reports that support decision making in specified areas
Create and/or update policies, procedures, and guidelines as needed
Partner with internal stakeholders to implement strategies for employee engagement and retention
Working closely with Director of Hospital Programs on organizational staff recruitment.
Create and maintain job descriptions
Conduct in-person meet & greets amongst RMH staff within the first week of onboarding
Manage Performance Appraisal process and assist with goal development. This includes reviewing the current process and making necessary enhancement updates. Collaborate on suggestions for individual training that will enhance growth and development
Participate in coaching, counseling and advising management and staff to ensure resolution of employment related matters
Implement new and enhance existing staff recognition and reward programs
Develop and implement strategies to increase Diversity, Equity & Inclusion within the organization
Conduct all exit interviews
Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation. Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local legal requirements, advise management on needed actions to remain compliant
Responsible for all tracking, accuracy, paying and contesting of unemployment claims and work comp program.
Keep abreast of industry knowledge and trends by participating in conferences and educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining professional networks and participating in professional organizations
Oversee benefits administration including benefit renewals, open enrollment and more
Proficient in Compensation analysis & benchmarking

Expected Hours of Work
This is a 40 hour/week position.
HR Generalist hours are typically: Mondays-Fridays 9:00am-5:00pm
Work Environment
Ronald McDonald House Charities, Upper Midwest operates programs within four pediatric hospitals in Minneapolis, St. Paul and Duluth, MN. With the stand-alone House, Oak Street located in Minneapolis, MN. RMHC-UM provides services to families who have children receiving treatment in the hospitals.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 to 5 years of HR experience in the above areas
Thorough understanding of HR policies and procedures, and knowledge of Federal and State regulations, including FLSA, FMLA, COBRA, ADA, HIPAA, and EEO laws and regulations
Familiarity with all aspects of HR, including compensation, recruitment, hiring, termination, retention, benefits and training
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are essential
Ability to interface with all levels of staff with tact and diplomacy
Must be a collaborative team player, possess a strong customer service orientation, and be a consultative problem solver
Ability to advocate for both staff and management
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required. Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now desirable

Physical Requirements
Valid driver’s license
Able to lift 50 pounds
May include prolonged periods standing and walking throughout the facility
