Come join us as we continue our diversity, equality and inclusion journey!GENERAL PURPOSE: The Legal Compliance Coordinator position will be based in Ross’ New York Buying Office and will support the Compliance and Regulatory, and Trade and Regulatory divisions within the Legal Department. The primary role is to assist with the development and implementation of a variety of regulatory and trade compliance-related projects, initiatives and processes, as well as provide administrative and related support for the Legal Department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:* Work closely with the Legal Department attorneys, paralegals and other staff members to facilitate day-to-day project/goal completion. Assist in drafting PowerPoint decks, collecting data, building Excel spreadsheets, drafting documents and conducting legal/business research * Create, develop and maintain reports, summaries and other data/information, including but not limited to current and historical information relating to products, sales, inventory, styles/SKU’s and merchandise margins* Assist with development and implementation of product safety/compliance projects, initiatives and compliance processes, including but not limited to: sending communications to internal and external contacts, tracking, receiving and following up with contacts as needed; assist with internal product/vendor investigations and; maintain various tracking logs (recalls, litigation, social governance); assist with questions posed by other departments such as Merch Ops, Store Ops, DC’s and IT; conduct initial research from buyer inquiries* Assist with other general compliance and Legal Department projects such as Federal or State Reporting Obligations, monthly Compliance Audits (flammability, imports etc.), updating Vendor Compliance Manual and Vendor Indemnification Online Project* Provide general administrative and related support as directed. Maintain multiple Legal mailboxes, respond to and/or direct written and verbal inquiries and communication to the appropriate Legal principals and/or stakeholders COMPETENCIES:* Organizational Skills * Time Management* Attention to Detail * Priority Setting* Drive Results * Listening* Integrity and Trust * Action Oriented* Analysis and Judgment * Interpersonal Effectiveness QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:* Bachelor degree required* 2-5 years of experience in a law firm, consulting company or other professional corporation* Strong organization skills, with a passion for details * Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a willingness to make recommendations* Outstanding presentation skills, both verbal and written* Service-oriented approach with ability to listen and empathize with others* Strong analytical skills * Exceptional critical thinking skills and solutions oriented* Great investigative skills* Experience with Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPointPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer. Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc. Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
