The Senior Accountant position is responsible for supporting various departments, including corporate, financial reporting, and analyzing needs. This role will also be responsible for monthly accounting tasks and assist in the development and management of standard costing practice. This role reports to the Controller.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Monthly financial department reporting and analysis
· Be a financial business partner to multiple department leaders
· Help develop costing standards and processes for our manufacturing businesses
· Perform reconciliations, prepare and/or post general journal entries
· Participate in annual budget, ongoing forecast, and audits during the year
· Preparing and filing of Monthly Sales Tax Returns
· Capital Lease evaluations
· Provide support to Payroll, AP, AR, and Office Balancing
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
· 2+ years in accounting
· Problem-solving/troubleshooting – well organized, process and data driven, logical thought-process, the ability to make decisions and act on them
· Interpersonal – ability to communicate at all levels within an organization, build and manage relationships, and demonstrate resilience
· Proven experience and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
· Communication – demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication skills
· Technology – strong Excel skills and ability to learn new software
· Flexibility – ability to take on various tasks/projects to meet department and company objectives
