Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Documentary Film Associate for Mason Gross School of Arts.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:Works on documentary film projects in New Jersey as a field producer, cinematographer, sound recordist, or associate editor. Travels to story-related locations as necessary, to organize and or conduct interviews and/or visual documentation. Usage of film/video equipment and software relevant to their respective role (i.e cameras if cinematographers, sound gear if recordist, editing software if editors or associate editors.)Pre-production and post-production related to the documentary work.Works with the Director of the Documentary Film Lab in gathering and shaping documentary stories.Position is dependent on adequate external funding.
Minimum Education And Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.A minimum of two (2) years professional experience in digital filmmaking.
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Requires strong communication, interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.Requires fluent knowledge of and comfort with film/video equipment and software relevant to their respective role (i.e. cameras if working with camera, sound gear if recordist, editing software if assistant or associate editors) and a sample reel demonstrating these skills.
