General Summary of Duties: Responsible forproviding professional nursing care for clinic patients under supervision ofthe Physician or Advanced Practice Practitioner (APP). Assists Physician or APP and staff incoordinating patient care. Functions asprimary liaison between patients, staff and Physician or APP.

Major Responsibilities/Tasks:

• Fulfills patientcare responsibilities as assigned that may include checking schedules &organizing patient flow.
• Prepares patientsfor examination and treatment.
• Takes patienthistories and vital signs.
• Performsblood draws and specimen handling.
• Prepares exam andtreatment rooms with necessary supplies, materials, and instruments.
• Gives injections,and applies casts, splints, and dressings, as applicable.
• Prepares andmaintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.
• Assistsphysicians in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals.
• Assists withscheduling of tests and treatments.
• Screens telephonecalls for referral to physician.
• Provides generalinformation on departmental policies and procedures.
• Notifies theClinical Supervisor or Office Manager when clinical and office supplies needreplenishing.
• Assist inmaintaining patient files, records, and other information to contribute toaccurate data gathering.
• Compiles andcondenses technical and statistical data for reports and records.
• Attends requiredmeetings and participates in committees as requested.
• Participates inprofessional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
• Maintains patientconfidentiality.
• Practice and adhereto the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement.”
• Performs relatedwork as required.

EDUCATION: A high schooldiploma or GED is required. Graduation from a recognized training facility formedical assistants is preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Minimumone (1) year of experience in a physician practice is preferred.

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE: CPRcertification preferred, MAcertification preferred

Pay: $15.00 – $17.00 per hour
