Saint John Vianney Center Hiring for Staff Accountant Job at Downingtown, PA Full Time

• Perform day-to-day activities associated with the monthly financial statement close process
• Ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely
• Proactively notify President or Controller of any accounting/reporting issues or concerns
• Work closely with other departments regarding accounting activities
• Work output has considerable impact on the work of other financial functions, reporting and decision-making processes. Impact on earnings focuses on appropriate utilization / development of resources
• Work with various parties, both within the Controller’s Group as well as other areas of the company, to accomplish goals, resolve issues and enhance and improve processes. Contact with others requires tact and persuasiveness
• May participate in planning processes at project and departmental level
• Work under minimal supervision
• Respond to inquiries from employees and leaders in a timely manner
• Prepare general ledger entries utilizing set procedures and various accounting systems in conjunction with monthly closing processes and reconciles general ledger accounts
• Ensure that balance sheet accounts are accurately stated and reconciled to the general ledger in a timely manner
• Research variances, determine root causes, and make adjusting entries when applicable
• Enter monthly journal entries to properly record accounting transactions, ensuring proper support is obtained to substantiate the entry
• Respond to check status inquiries and reissue requests
• Monitor and resolve bank issues including fee anomalies and check discrepancies

Qualifications

• Demonstrated technical knowledge and understanding of accounting theory, principles, practices and regulations including FASB/GAAP and SOX compliance
• Experience with PointClickCare helpful.
• Great Plains (GP) experience helpful.
• Understands requirements for documentation in work papers, disclosures, and memos; demonstrated ability to document a broad range of technical issues.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,062.45 – $55,000.00 per year
