KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualifications:
 

1. Must be at least 18 years old and have High School Diploma or GED.
2. Must have some advanced training in clerical/office/medical records procedures.  Experience as a Health Unit Coordinator or possession of a Medical Records Certificate preferred.
3. Must be able to read, speak and write English.

Knowledge:
 

1. Must demonstrate the ability to comprehend and follow established policies and procedures.
2. Understands regulatory requirements for resident care related to Skilled Nursing, CBRF and RCAC licensures.
3. Familiar with ICD 10 codes and able to understand State/Federal regulations concerning record-keeping.

Skills:
 

1. Possesses basic competence with the use of MS Word and Excel and has some demonstrated proficiency in data entry.
2. Able to demonstrate proficiency with printing, copying, scanning, and filing.
3. Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with various audiences such as  residents, families, the public, and other members of the Saint John’s community.

      Abilities:
 

1. Demonstrates dependability and reliability in adhering to an established work schedule.  Able to work flexible hours to meet scheduling requirements. 
2. Demonstrates performance efficiency in managing workload with little overtime.  Able to adapt to changing organizational needs.
3. Exhibits a warm, cheerful, caring manner when interacting with residents, families, co-workers and other guests at Saint John’s.

4. Must be professional in actions, dress appropriate to the position, have excellent customer service skills, and desire to work with and serve older adults.
5. Able to multi-task and work independently while performing various duties without close supervision.
