Full Time, benefit eligible position, scheduled 72 hours per pay period (every two weeks) on Night Shift (7pm-7:30am) with a weekend and holiday commitment on the Inpatient Behavioral Health unit on our Chelsea campus.
The Chelsea Hospital Inpatient Behavioral Health unit is expanding!!
Chelsea Hospital IP Behavioral Health Services is a 30-bed licensed adult psychiatric unit. The unit is divided into 2 halls, North Hall which has 14 beds and Center Hall which has 16 beds.
The ultimate purpose of the IP Behavioral Health Services is to facilitate the patient’s return to his or her prior living situation or to a situation which allows for the highest level of independent function and quality of life. The unit staff believe that this can be accomplished through the joint efforts of the patient, the family and the treatment team. The philosophy of this unit includes:
The Mental Health Worker is responsible for working with patients, both individually and in groups, to support and assist with the patient’s inpatient care. Mental Health Workers help patients address a myriad of issues that include, but are not limited to, stress management, problems with self-esteem, issues associated with aging and mental and emotional health. The Mental Health Worker also assists patients with activities of daily living (ADL’s) as assigned by nursing staff.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / LICENSURE
Requirements include bachelor’s degree in the Behavioral/Social sciences with at least one year of previous experience in the treatment of mental illness.
