Your Role With Us:
The Front End Web Developer provides front end technical support for the Salem Health public facing website (SalemHealth.org). Assists in managing the Salem Health website in coordination with the web team. Requires working knowledge of web-based technology. This role ensures ease of website maneuverability for visitors to the organization’s public-facing website.
Core Functions:
Maintains Salem Health’s public-facing website (SalemHealth.org), including the administration and development of user interfaces, management of web infrastructure, and coordination of technical development. Takes into consideration effective user-interface design, user-centered information architecture, and usability issues. Analyzes and evaluates existing or proposed systems and devices or modifies procedures to process data and solve problems.
Develops programs and applications, extending functionality of database-driven pages, resolving technical issues, and regular site testing and maintenance for Salem Health.
Works with web team on all phases of the development lifecycle, including testing. Works directly with Senior Web Engineer to coordinate and implement website strategies and efforts which optimize navigation and functionality to ensure optimal customer experience.
Works with clients and Marketing Business Partners to determine functional requirements and content needs. Works closely with Marketing and Communications staff to keep online information accurate, current, and relevant.
Diagnoses system failures, corrects problem, and leads efforts to develop actions to prevent recurrence of the problem. Works with users to determine appropriate solutions for user needs and software problems.
Provides remote and in-person support as needed.
Develops logic, codes, tests, and debugs Web pages and Web application software modules to include CMS Plug-ins and custom reusable widgets.
Works closely with Information Services to communicate and coordinate server and database implementation and maintenance plans.
Solves problems using Lean tools. Consistently strives to improve proficiency in Lean and proactively works to identify continuous improvement projects using Lean methodologies.
Attends weekly Marketing Department and website meetings to inform and be informed on current and future tasks/projects.
Background/Expertise:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years of web engineer experience.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience with network and server administration in a business environment.
Experience with Linux and Windows server administration in a business environment.
Strong knowledge and understanding of the following technologies: MySQL, SQL, AJAX, JSON, XHTML, AngularJS, HTML5, CSS, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, ASP.Net (C#), SharePoint, XML, SOAP, Social Network APIs, Visual Studio, Git, Sitefinity.
Uses a wide array of complex principles, theories, and concepts in the specific field, plus may have working knowledge of other related disciplines and provide solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
