General Statement of
Duties:
The McKeown School of Education is seeking applicants for a full-time, temporary,
non-tenure-track faculty position with a specialization in School Counseling. The anticipated start date for the position is July 2023. The
School Counseling Program prepares candidates to be educational leaders, social justice advocates, and system change agents with an emphasis
on working in urban and suburban diverse settings. Duties include teaching a total of six graduate level classes per year and advising
school counseling students, course topics may include: Multicultural Counseling, Career Counseling, Seminar in School Adjustment Counseling,
and School Counseling practicum/seminar courses; and advising graduate students.
For the academic year 2023-2024, this faculty
member will assist in coordination of the School Counseling Program. Duties will include the direct supervision of school counseling
candidates; conducting student admission reviews, new student onboarding, managing students’ plans of study; monitoring of internship and
practicum site approval and accountability, reporting of hours; assisting with curriculum planning; and maintaining records for a program
with national reach. This individual will work with students as they research and select their practicum and internship sites, collaborate
with program faculty to ensure accuracy in required forms and records.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Candidates are required to perform
duties in accordance with the MSCA
contract. Duties include teaching, advising, and contributions to continuously improve the department and university. The standard
teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. The position is subject to available funding.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
Earned master’s degree in school counseling, current licensure/certification as a practicing school counselor); documented prior
experience as a working school counselor for a minimum of three years and understanding of school adjustment counselor role; experience
working with students through hybrid learning, and in mentoring, and training; and a member of the American School Counseling
Association.
Preferred Qualifications:
Evidence of strong clinical skills and a strong
school counselor identity; evidence of strong teaching skills at the college level; and teaching, preferably at the graduate levels; and an
earned PhD in Counselor Education from a CACREP-accredited program or PhD in Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
