Pacific Surgery Center is a multi-specialty Surgery Center offering a learning experience in many specialties such as: ENT, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, GYN, Plastics, GI Endoscopy, Pain Management, Podiatry and more. You will never be bored and every day brings a new challenge and experience. The Operating Room is a fast-paced environment that offers opportunities to work with new and advanced technologies and work alongside some of the best Operating Rooms nurses and Surgeons in our community!
The program will be a robust 6-week training program consisting of virtual modules, self-guided study, and hands-on labs in our Surgery Center. You will be assigned an experienced preceptor who will help ensure that you are meeting the requirements needed to be a highly trained professional working in the Operating Room. Accountabilities / Responsibilities
Job Relationships:
Directly reports to the Nurse Manager. Work collaboratively with all center staff. May take direction from other center managers, Medical Director and/or Administrator. Occasional contact with vendors, surveyors, civil authorities, and others.
Summary:
Responsible for the preoperative planning and preparation for surgical intervention, individualized to meet the needs of each patient and his/her surgeon, applying age-specific guidelines. Scrubs on all surgical specialties, aides in the preparation and discharge of the surgical patient, including patient transport and transfer. Participates in Q.A. improvement activities, meets certification and educational requirements and demonstrates knowledge and compliance with the AST Standards of Practice and AORN’s Standards and Recommended Practices.
